As a Sydney-based freelance writer, there\u2019s nothing more I love than weaving stories and succumbing to wanderlust. I am seduced by the muse into her realms of travel writing, children\u2019s fiction and educational writing.<\/p>\n

After a career teaching English and Geography, I went AWOL to embark on my writing journey. In its different guises it has taken me from the Antarctic Circle to the Arctic Circle and much of what\u2019s in between. I\u2019ve mushed huskies in Norway, sailed into a black-sanded caldera on the Antarctic peninsula, chatted to a few thousand skulls in Rome\u2019s crypts and learnt the art of wife stealing in Lombok.<\/p>\n

The wall behind my desk is filled with the tokens of my writing experiences: travel photographs, illustrations accompanying my children\u2019s stories, snippets of research and poetry.<\/p>\n

I am a member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers, Australian Society of Authors, Fellowship of Australian Writers, Children\u2019s Book Council of Australia and Writing NSW.<\/p>\n

My travel writing has appeared in BBC Travel, New York Times Style Magazine Australia (T Australia), Qantas magazine,\u00a0<\/em>The Sydney Morning Herald<\/i>,\u00a0<\/em>Sun-Herald<\/i>, The Australian<\/i>, The Sunday Telegraph, New Zealand Herald, NRMA’s Open Road, Senior Traveller,<\/i>\u00a0Signature Luxury Travel & Style,<\/em>\u00a0ABC\u2019s Limelight magazine (Music, Arts & Culture),<\/i> Where magazine, Greater Sydney Living,<\/i><\/em>\u00a0Medical Observer\u00a0<\/i>and ABC’s\u00a0behind the news <\/i>magazine. My adults’ and children’s fiction appear in anthologies and my children\u2019s stories, poems and plays appear in\u00a0The School Magazine<\/i>.<\/p>\n

With a special love of writing for children, I facilitate the Children’s Writers’ Group at Writing NSW. I am on the committee of the Northern Sydney Sub-branch of the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA).<\/p>\n

\u00a0The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.<\/i><\/p>\n
